Terms of Service

1. What BookSeek Is
BookSeek is a peer-to-peer marketplace that connects people who want to buy, sell, or trade physical books. We are a passive technology platform — we do not own, sell, or ship any books. All transactions are between users directly.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use BookSeek. By using the platform, you confirm that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate.
3. Prohibited Listings
You may not list:
- Digital files, PDFs, ebooks, or any non-physical items
- Counterfeit, pirated, or unlicensed copies of any work
- Weapons, drugs, or any illegal items
- Items that violate intellectual property rights
- Adult content or materials harmful to minors
Listings violating these rules will be removed. Repeated violations may result in account suspension.
4. Credits
BookSeek uses a credit system for certain actions (posting listings, unlocking contact information). Credits are purchased via Stripe.
- Credits are non-refundable except at our sole discretion or as required by law.
- Promotional credits expire 60 days after they are issued.
- We reserve the right to modify credit pricing at any time with reasonable notice.
5. User Conduct
You agree not to:
- Spam, harass, or abuse other users
- Misrepresent the condition or contents of a book
- Attempt to circumvent the platform (e.g., scraping, automation abuse)
- Create fake reviews or reports
6. Platform as Passive Conduit
BookSeek is a passive conduit for communications and is not a party to any transaction between users. We are not responsible for the accuracy of listings, the quality of items, or whether transactions are completed. This service operates under the protections of Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
BookSeek is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uptime, data availability, or the accuracy of any listing. Use the platform at your own risk.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, BookSeek's total liability to you for any claim arising from use of the platform is limited to the amount you paid us in the 30 days preceding the claim.
9. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access to BookSeek at any time for violations of these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion. You may stop using the platform at any time.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of BookSeek after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
